Building relationships of trust with clients for more than 30 years has made Bill Crago and the company he founded the preferred banking and finance executive recruiter for national, regional and local organizations. “We have always had our clients’ interests in mind,” he says. “The banks and financial institutions I’ve worked with are making a significant investment, both in time and money, when they bring a new candidate into their company. Likewise, those candidates we work with trust us with their careers and livelihood. Making sure we place the right person means they’ll be there in 5 years, 10 years or even 20 years. Everybody wins.”
“During the executive search process, I often had confidential information shared with me by my client,” he says. “It could be a pending sale, a new product that may be introduced or management changes within the organization itself. I respected and honored the trust placed in me, releasing information only on a need-to-know basis as determined by the client while ensuring that the final candidates have a comprehensive understanding of the role they would potentially fulfill.”
Even though he has pared-down his career to only a few clients in order to spend more time doing the things he loves like hunting, fishing, photography, and hiking, Bill still provides fiscal oversight and strategic planning to the firm. Outside the office, he also serves as a youth athletic coach and trainer, and is the regional director of the National Youth Shotgun and Pistol program.
