The day begins early for Meg, who frequently arrives at the office before 6 a.m. and downs a full pot of coffee before her colleagues arrive.
“I find that a successful search begins in the quiet of the morning,” she says. “Once the phone begins to ring the rest of the day often flies by in a blur.”
Meg has specialized in executive recruitment for the banking and finance industry for over 30 years, with more than 25 of those years at The Executive Group. She works predominantly with banks in the western U.S., and is known among her clients for being an exceptional listener who wants to understand precisely the type of individual they want and need before she begins the search.
Each job order is unique and each strategy has to differ to find the candidate with the right skill set to fill her client’s open position. Meg is also remarkably diligent, willing to explore unexpected avenues in her effort to meet client-specific criteria.
“The search business is often a ‘gut’ science,” says Meg. “When you’ve done it long enough, you get a feel for when a match is—or isn’t—happening. I’ve learned to listen to that feeling because it’s usually right.”
In addition to managing a full recruitment schedule, Meg also serves as the company’s site manager. Clients and colleagues alike appreciate her energetic approach and attention to detail in all aspects of her work.
